The Media Landscape Is Shrinking, Can PR Adapt?

Research from the NYU School of Professional Studies and PR Week shows that public relations professionals are much more likely to be politically progressive than the US general population. 68% of PR professionals surveyed identified as progressive compared with 26% of the general population.
The report also showed that the gap between PR professionals and the general population is especially wide on social and economic issues. 83% of PR pros are progressive on social issues, compared to 31%, and 51% are progressive on economic issues, compared to 24%. Additionally, 56% of PR pros are progressive on safety issues, compared to 23%.
The survey was conducted on 153 PR professionals and PR graduate students age 20 and older, as well as a representative sample of 2,500 US residents age 18 and older.
