TikTok Is Now Gen Z's Top Social Platform for Product Information
TikTok has become Gen Z's favorite social platform for getting product information as well as for consuming news, according to recent research from Sprout Social.
According to recent research from Edison Research, Facebook is the most used social platform amongst Americans, however its popularity is decreasing. The survey was conducted in January 2023 among 1,500 people aged 12 and over, and weighted according to national population figures.
The survey found that 46% of social media users use Facebook most often, followed by 18% using Instagram, 14% using TikTok, 7% using Twitter, 6% using Snap, and 3% using Pinterest. 74% of social media users aged 55 and over use Facebook most often, compared to 55% of those aged 35-54, and 20% of those aged 12-34.
Facebook dropped 14 percentage points in the share of social media users aged 12-34 who use it most often, 6 percentage points in the share of those aged 35-54, and 3 percentage points in the share of those aged 55 and over.
