According to recent research from Service Direct, most small business owners and managers plan to increase or maintain their content marketing spend in the next 12 months. About 61% of them have a documented content marketing plan, and 63% handle it in-house. The most frequently used content types are product reviews and customer testimonials, while videos, blog posts, customer testimonials, and product reviews are seen as the most effective.
The research was based on a survey of 702 owners or managers at businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Of these, 78% are owners or managers of businesses with fewer than 50 employees. The findings suggest that small businesses are increasingly taking content marketing seriously, allocating resources to it and using effective content types.
The survey results are a testament to the fact that content marketing can be an effective marketing strategy for small businesses. With the right resources, small businesses can create engaging content and reach their target audience.
