The Average Compensation of B2B Tech CMOs

Research from 6sense shows that chief marketing officers in the B2B technology sector earn an average annual cash compensation of between $240,000 and $350,000. On average, the base salary is between $200,000 and $250,000, and the bonus is 20-30% of the base salary. Male and female CMOs have the same average compensation.

The average compensation of CMOs at venture-capital-backed, private-equity-backed, and public companies is similar, but the proportion of salary, bonus, and equity differs. The report was based on data from a survey of 338 B2B CMOs and senior-level marketing leaders.

Overall, the research demonstrates that CMOs in the B2B technology sector are compensated well. It is important to note that the differences in the proportion of salary, bonus, and equity among different types of companies.
