TikTok Is Now Gen Z's Top Social Platform for Product Information
TikTok has become Gen Z's favorite social platform for getting product information as well as for consuming news, according to recent research from Sprout Social.
Recent research from Social Insider has found that adding more hashtags to Instagram posts does not tend to help boost views. The report was based on data from 75,361,233 Instagram posts and found that although hashtags are useful for categorization and discovery, they do not have a major influence on distribution.
The researchers found that impressions peak at different amounts of hashtags depending on the size of the Instagram account. For big accounts (50,000 - 1 million followers), impressions peak at three or four hashtags, while for small accounts (5,000 - 10,000 followers), impressions peak at five or six hashtags. For medium-sized accounts (10,000 - 50,000 followers), impressions tend to increase with five or more hashtags.
Overall, the research has concluded that hashtags are beneficial for categorization and discovery, but not for post views or impressions. This is true regardless of the size of the Instagram account.
