Most sales professionals feel underappreciated in the business world. However, according to recent research from Pipedrive, 61% of sales professionals say they are proud to call themselves a salesperson. This is a decrease from 69% in 2019, suggesting more sales professionals are feeling appreciated.
The research also found that 49% of sales professionals have become more satisfied with their role over the last 12 months. Meanwhile, only 12% reported being less satisfied with their role.
The report was based on data from a survey conducted in 2020 among 1,702 sales reps, sales managers, and business owners. This suggests that appreciation for salespeople has risen since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
