According to research from the Event Leadership Institute, event professionals would not feel comfortable attending an indoor event at full capacity due to COVID-19. Data from a survey of nearly 800 event planners, vendors, and suppliers showed that 84% would not feel comfortable at full capacity and 54% would not feel comfortable at half capacity.
Most respondents indicated they would be comfortable attending an event at 20% capacity indoors and 50% capacity outdoors. To feel safe, 77% said masks should be required and 77% said hand sanitizer should be available. Most said they would not feel comfortable attending an event that lasted longer than half a day.
The report was based on a survey conducted in July 2020 and included nearly 800 event professionals. It is an important resource to consider as the event industry continues to navigate the pandemic.
