The Most Common SEO Issues Impacting Crawlability and Indexability

Many business websites have key issues that can hamper search engine crawling and indexing according to recent research from SEMrush. Crawlability issues are the most common, with 4xx errors (47%), broken internal links (42%), and incorrect pages in sitemap (30%) being the most frequent.

The most common major indexability issues are hreflang conflicts (62%), duplicate title tags (51%), and duplicate meta-descriptions (50%). The research was based on the websites of 250,000 businesses operating in various industries.
