Marketers from enterprise companies are expected to shift their budgets away from in-person conferences and spend more on virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey conducted in April 2020 among 100 enterprise-level marketers revealed that 88% of them plan to reduce their investment in in-person events/ conferences. Other areas for decreased investment include direct mail/outreach, digital advertising, and premium content.
The survey also showed that the top areas marketers plan to shift their budget towards include virtual events (78%), web content (72%), webinars (67%), social media (66%), blog content (57%), and video production (50%).
The report was based on data from a survey conducted in April 2020 among 100 marketers who work for enterprise-level companies (80% of them with $1 billion or more in annual revenue).
