Are Marketers Worried About Being Replaced by AI?
Nearly half of marketers in the United States say they are worried AI will replace their job one day, according to recent research.
At the B2B Forum, MarketingProfs Chief Content Officer Ann Handley gave an inspirational presentation about B2B marketers being held to impossible standards. GenAI then took the stage, raising questions about companies outsourcing "low-value" work and creating digital clones of people. These worries, along with AI tools being given human names and cost of jobs, need to be considered.
GenAI brings benefits, but also consequences. Andrew Davis urged transparency about GenAI use and Lee Odden stressed that people trust people, not brands. Alaura Weaver warned against companies replacing people with AI, and Christopher Penn highlighted the role of AI in replacing multiple people.
GenAI's momentum will continue and its positive benefits outweigh its negative consequences. Everyone has a responsibility to remain empathetic to what's been lost while celebrating what's been gained. Resources are available to help navigate its use and implications.
