Nearly half of marketers in the United States say they are worried AI will replace their job one day, according to recent research.
When OpenAI debuted its ChatGPT AI language model, it made a future dominated by AI seem closer. It produces perfect lines of code and can answer complex queries. Google responded with Bard, but it's not up to par yet.
Microsoft has partnered with OpenAI and integrated ChatGPT into its Edge browser and Bing app to gain an edge in the search market. Google could invest in better AI technology, but the near-term impact on marketing and revenue won't be significant.
Google's search dominance could waver if competitors with better ideas take over. For now, Google will use AI behind the scenes to better understand user intent and serve better search results. ChatGPT's success is a reminder of the innovation that can come from small teams.
