ChatGPT has become a popular technology since its release, but it has its limitations. At Sana Commerce, we tested it to see how it could help our business and found that it is a resource; it can provide information, but not introspection. It cannot write thought leadership pieces, but it is useful for ideation and research. We also discovered that relying on ChatGPT for sensitive topics could hurt our brand and lead to a lack of connection with the audience.
We found success using ChatGPT to generate engaging openings and subject lines, which we borrow from and use to inspire us to write even more exciting copy. It also helped us uncover new trends. Ultimately, it is a tool for information gathering and an idea generator from which we learn and be inspired.
To make the most of ChatGPT, use it to summarize, list, ideate, and generate. But don't ask it to make a human connection through writing; that is something only we can do.
